Renowned South African football coach, Gordon Igesund, will not be taking over as the head coach of Free State Stars, despite the interest shown in him by the Bethlehem club.
It was recently reported by the Siya crew that Stars have offered Igesund a chance to take over the head coach role at the club for the remainder of the 2016/17 season.
Igesund is currently unattached, after parting ways with Highlands Park at the end of last month. Ea Lla Koto, who are 14th on the Absa Premiership log, have shown interest in the experienced former Bafana Bafana coach, as they are eager to move away from relegation zone.
The Free State outfit is currently under the tutelage of Serame Letsoaka, who worked as Igesund’s assistant at both Bafana and SuperSport United.
However, sources in the know have confirmed to the Siya crew that Igesund will not be taking the coaching role at Stars for undisclosed reasons.
The former Platinum Stars coaching duo of Owen da Gama and Allan Freese are some of the other coaches that have also been linked with taking over the head coaching role at Stars.
