Bafana Bafana have moved up in the latest FIFA rankings, and have the chance to give themselves a big boost later this month when they head out to the Africa Cup of Nations. South Africa's boost wasn't massive this month as they gear up for this year's AFCON in Egypt, but they did climb up to 72nd - their highest placing in the whole of 2018 - place in the world and now sit in between Guinea and China in 71st and 73rd respectively. Meanwhile, Stuart Baxter's side remain 14th in the continent ahead of Africa's biggest football competition, but with Morocco, Ivory Coast and Namibia in their group, there is a big chance to clamber further up by the time that August's rankings are released. Africa's top three are made up of Senegal, Tunisia and Nigeria – all of whom will be gunning for the AFCON title – while the top four of Belgium, France, Brazil and England remain unchanged following their recent qualifiers.
