Sekhukhune United and TS Galaxy could not be separated after playing to a goalless draw in DStv Premiership action on Friday night.

DStv Premiership

Result: Sekhukhune United 0-0 TS Galaxy

Date: 03 May 2024

Venue: Peter Mokaba Stadium

Rockets head coach Sead Ramovic was boosted by the return of Mojela who did not feature against Mamelodi Sundowns, while Sekhukhune recalled Kamohelo Mokotjo and Chibuike Ohizu as the only two changes.

Galaxy had already beaten Sekhukhune in their two previous encounters this season, which included a 2-0 win in the league at the Mbombela Stadium.

Sekhukhune were a lot more fresher than Galaxy, who were in action against Mamelodi Sundowns four day ago, but it was the home side who enjoyed more of the possession in the early stages of the first half.

The visitors nearly got the breakthrough ten minutes before the break when Puso Dithejane was slipped through on goal and rifled one against the crossbar with Sangare, although there was a hint of offside.

Sekhukhune coach Lehlohonolo Seema was clearly unhappy with how the side was performing as he made double change seven minutes before the break, as Lebohang Mabotja and Keletso Sifama replaced Aseko Tiwani and Jamie Webber, who walked straight down the tunnel instead of sitting on the bench.

Shortly after the break, Galaxy had the ball in the back of the net when Mpho Mvelase controlled well in the box before firing home, but the celebrations were cut short due to the offside flag.

Ramovic responded with a double change of his own as Samir Nurkovic and Lindokuhle Mbatha replaced Dithejane and Kamogelo Sebelebele for the final 30 minutes of the second half.

The hosts were nearly gifted the opening goal when Galaxy goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari failed to collect a cross which almost sailed into the back of the net, but Sanoka was on hand to clear off the line.

That proved to be the final clear-cut opening of the half as the two sides settled for a share of the spoils.

Here's how they lined up:

Sekhukhune United: Sangare, Mobbie, Tiwani, Cardoso, Tshibwabwa, Mokotjo, Mokwana, Webber, Mkhize, Mntambo, Ohizu
