The 27-year-old was due to see his contract in Pietermaritzburg expire at the end of the current season, however it has now been confirmed to the Siya crew that they have exercised an option on him that will keep him there for at least another two years. Vasili Barbis, the player's agent, told the crew, "Yeah, it's true. Maritzburg have exercised a two-year option on Mxolisi, and he's looking forward to a better 2019/20 campaign after they had to pull off some heroics in the season just gone by."
