Reports emerging out of Spain claim that Real Madrid have reached an agreement with River Plate for promising goalkeeper, Augusto Batalla.
The 18-year-old shot stopper, who has represented Argentina at U20 level, is currently playing for River Plate and Spanish newspaper AS has reported that a deal between the two clubs will be announced imminently.
Batalla is currently Argentina’s most promising goalkeeper and River Plate’s president has confirmed Real Madrid’s interest.
“Real Madrid want him. We will have to see if River can hold on to him,” Rodolfo D’Onofrio said.
Real Madrid are also reported to be interested in securing the services of a promising goalkeeper, with Iker Casillas set to leave the club at the age of 36 in 2017, when his contract expires. Keylor Navas, Real Madrid’s second choice keeper, will be 31.
The signing will be one of several signings of young stars made in this January transfer window, joining the likes of Marco Asensio (19) and Martin Ødegaard (16).
