Manchester United star, Wayne Rooney, insists that Luis Suarez is not yet as good as Cristiano Ronaldo, but sees him as the current second-best player in the world.
The Liverpool striker won the PFA and WFA Player of the Year awards and has scored 31 goals this season, tying Ronaldo’s best ever Premier League tally from the 2007-08 season.
When asked who was currently the best player in the world, Rooney responded in a Samsung Q&A session: “Cristiano Ronaldo and probably Luis Suarez a close second.”
"The best player I've ever played with is between two - Cristiano Ronaldo and Paul Scholes," Rooney added.
"Scholesy controlled the game and passed the ball around but in terms of winning games - Cristiano Ronaldo."
Rooney was then asked whether he could follow in the footsteps of current team-mate and United interim coach, Ryan Giggs, and change onto the side-lines after his playing career.
"Honestly I don't know, I could be a manager at some point," he responded.
"It would depend on circumstances in my life and what chapter of my life I was at with my family and which club it would be."
