Real Madrid coach, Carlo Ancelotti, has made Jose Mourinho forgotten and says the Los Blancos are ready to fight for their first trophy this year.
While Real are still fighting for three trophies, the Spanish cup final is likely to be Barcelona’s last realistic chance for silverware after their recent two defeats in Champions League and La Liga.
Ancelotti's success at Bernabeu this season’s has silenced talks about his predecessor, Jose Mourinho, and the Italian coach is targeting his first silverware with the club.
“In my case it must be remembered that Mourinho was only spoken about in the changing room in August when we met him in a tournament,” Ancelotti said.
"The game is important for a lot of reasons. Firstly, it is the first title of the season that we can win. Secondly, because we will take on a great side like Barcelona. All of this gives the game a lot of importance. The possibility of winning the first trophy of the season is motivation for us.”
Ancelotti is still hopeful his superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo, will be ready for tomorrow’s game, but insists his squad have proven they can cope with the Portuguese.
“Cristiano will always be missed, but the players aren't saying 'My God, what do we do without him!'. They are confident and have shown they know how to win without him. It's a great opportunity to be the protagonists in a final.”
