Misery Compounded, Latest On Swallows' FIFA Ban

Misery Compounded, Latest On Swallows' FIFA Ban

Swallows FC's problems may be bigger than initially anticipated with Siya sources informing the crew that the Birds' transfer misery has been compounded.

The Dube Birds were recently handed a transfer ban by FIFA owing to outstanding monies owed to former players, Vladimir Mandic and Obren Cuckovic.

It was thought that the matter would be resolved once the R3 million outstanding figure was paid, something club Chairman David Mogashoa was confident of.

In a recent spate of Twitter posts, the Chairman had revealed that the matter would be 'handled'.

However, Siya sources have informed the crew that the matter is not as simple as it is made to appear and is far from resolved.

According to the well-placed Siya source at SAFA, Swallows' transfer ban will remain for the foreseeable future, meaning that they will not be able to register any new players, if the players are not paid the fee.

The source further revealed that Mogashoa could appeal the decision with the court of arbitration, which could come at a cost of around R500,000 with no guarantee of the decision being overturned.

What this means is that four of Swallows 'new' players in Ally Msengi, David Ulomi, Evans Rusike as well as the returning Daniel Gozar will not be able to be registered, despite having been with the club since July.

The Siya crew's attempts for comment by the club's management were unsuccessful at the time of publishing.
