Virgil Vries Is Not The Only One To Blame

Virgil Vries Is Not The Only One To Blame

Tshini!

Kaizer Chiefs fans are highly unimpressed with their club after a Virgil Vries blunder led to a 1-0 defeat at home against Cape Town City. While some fans are shooting their blame at Vries, others say the club's attackers are to blame more than the goalkeeper!

FAZEN01 says if one considers the chances tAmakhosi had to score and open a lead against City, then Chiefs' attackers are also responsible for the loss against the Capetonians:

"Had Chiefs scored those missed chances before half-time, you wouldn't be talking about the keeper's error. Chiefs' attackers need to be blamed as well, don't put the blame only on this wonderful keeper."

Tcha15 also shared similar sentiment, that other players must also take the blame:

"The main culprit here is Billiat. I mean, he was wasteful."

Likewise, lungiez thinks the goalkeeper is not only to blame. According to the Soccer Laduma reader, Vries' mistake didn't make a difference because Chiefs were never going to win the game:

"Even if the keeper didn't make a mistake, Chiefs were still not going to win. I don't see how you can blame the keeper here."

Not everyone shares the belief that Vries is not the only one to blame for Chiefs losing, though. Soccer Laduma reader Easyman Mdobhie Moleya seems to have a highly negative opinion of the goalkeeper:

"This is the worst goalkeeper Chiefs has ever had in years!"
