The first leg of the 2000 Rothmans Cup final between Ajax Cape Town and Orlando Pirates was played at the FNB Stadium on 3 December 2000. The game ended in a 1-1 stalemate, and the replay was scheduled for 13 December.
Ajax were first to score in the second leg, three minutes into the game, through a great free kick from Brett Evans. In the 13th minute, Carlo Scott netted a second for the Urban Warriors, who then went into half-time break leading 2-0.
Scott scored Ajax's third right at the start of the second half. Jerry Sikhosana scored a consolation goal with 15 minutes left to play but eight minutes later, Jeremy Jansen wrapped up the trophy, heralding the onset of another South African powerhouse.
