'Pirates Fans Must Worry About The Derby And Leave Moon Alone'

'Pirates Fans Must Worry About The Derby And Leave Moon Alone'

Kaizer Chiefs striker Ryan Moon is hot property, having banged in five goals in his past nine games in the colours of Amakhosi.

A heated debate among football fans, including those of Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates, erupted over the weekend following his strike that saw the Glamour Boys claim three crucial points against Cape Town City. Although Moon has been scoring consistently, some supporters are still not 100% sold on the striker's style of play, and believe that it is still too early to categorise him among the greatest attackers.

Supporters Club caught up with one of its members and Amakhosi fan Sylvester Nkosi, who has hit back and jumped to Moon's defence.

SC: Khosi, what is your take on this debate among Bucs, Masandawana and Chiefs supporters?

Sylvester: First of all, Ryan Moon is scoring goals at any given chance. Sundowns wasted money and bought Brockie, who hasn't really done anything for them to date. As for Pirates, they are the last people to have an opinion on Moon. I mean, they rely on Gabuza. Can you really compare Moon and Gabuza? No. They only thing Pirates fans should be doing is start worrying about 3 March (the next Soweto Derby) and leave Moon again. Moon is a striker and he is doing what every striker should be doing and that is to score goals. Being a striker requires consistency, and Moon is the epitome of that.

How would you describe Moon's style of play?
