Former Orlando Pirates left back, Sibusiso Mxoyana is enjoying his stay at National First Division side, Vasco da Gama, where he has established himself as one of the team's regulars after a frustration period at the Parktown-based club.
Mxoyana couldn't break into the Bucs first team despite enjoying regular game-time in the junior national teams, proving his worth. Speaking to Soccer Laduma in this week's edition, Mxoyana said after being asked about what exactly happened at Bucs.
"I don't want to talk about what happened, but being there was good for me as it is every player's dream to play for a big team. Since I was a youngster, I had the opportunity but unfortunately it didn't work out the way I wanted it to. My thoughts about it are that although I might have had a bad time at Pirates, it was an enjoyable stay.
"I'm in my current position today because of them and I'm getting game-time at Vasco, so I can't complain. Last season I played 27 league matches plus all the Nedbank Cup game," said Mxoyana.
Despite his frustrating period in as far as regular game-time at Bucs was concerned, Mxoyana spoke highly of the experience he gained at the club.
The Vasco reliable defender had little to no chance of unseating the likes of Thabo Matlaba and Patrick Phungwayo in the Bucs starting line-up and his move to Vasco looks like what his career needed.
What do you think of Mxoyana's lack of game-time at Bucs that lead to his move to Cape Town-based NFD club?
