Mpho Letsholonyane: Be Passionate, Be Driven

Mpho Letsholonyane: Be Passionate, Be Driven

As we continue to celebrate Women's Month, this week we caught up with seasoned Radio and TV Sport Presenter Mpho Letsholonyane.

Letsholonyane's passion for soccer was ignited as a young girl who used to religiously watch the game with her father. With hard work and determination her career path led her to developing herself as a sports anchor for one of the country's biggest radio shows- Fresh Breakfast every weekday with DJ Fresh and Somizi -  and to work for the national broadcaster (SABC) where she has delivered her own brand.

Supporters Club's Lerato Mkhondo caught about with the talented and influential woman, who has become an inspirational for other young women aspiring to follow in her footsteps and live their dream of working in sport one day. We asked her what this special month and being a woman in Mzansi football means to her, and, for her advice to young aspiring women.

"The month of August is one of my favourite months simply because we get to celebrate women; not only as a gender but also as achievers in life."

"Being a woman is sport means I get to do what I love in spite of my gender. Sport can no longer be reserved just for men on any platform. Only through us being a part of sport will we be able to shine the spotlight on each other."

"Be passionate! Be driven! Don't be intimidated by finding yourself being the only one in your chosen sporting code because this gives you the opportunity to open the door for many other women to follow."

Supporters Club would like to express its sincere gratitude to Mpho for granting the opportunity to chat with her and the amazing words she has shared for women who aspire to be in the world of football and sport one day.
