Let's take a closer look at what the readers had to say...

CAF Champions League favourites Mamelodi Sundowns are Africa's number one team according to footballdatabase.com.

Masandawana have overtaken Egyptian giants and their opponents this week, Al Ahly, who have a tally of 1635 points compared to Sundowns' 1645.

The two sides face on in the CAFCL this week, with Downs heading into the clash with an advantage after winning their first two group games, while Al Ahly went down to Sudanese outfit Al Hilal.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Sundowns Overtake Al Ahly As Africa's Number 1 Team" story:

"It honestly doesn't matter where Sundowns is ranked. Truth of the matter is, we are the best and have been the best for seasons now.

"Others will talk this and that but they remain points donors of Sundowns," says sbchinji.

"Al Ahly is coming back to SA next month. Please Family Business lend them your World Class Family Facility again. We (Sundowns) want to beat them again," says bhekilekhuleni6.

"Congratulations Sundowns, they have been doing well and the funny thing is that few seasons ago the same company rated Chiefs as number one team in Africa but the same Sundowns supporters who celebrating today, were criticizing them, calling them with different names (laughing emojis)

"Yaaaa neee, but because today it's Sundowns, there's no problem. Good people let's learn to give credit where it's due. Sundowns is doing well at the moment, they deserve it," says juicecpeter.

"These news won't sit well with those that say Downs is destroying SA football, next they will say Downs is destroying African football because we are now going to dominate Africa," says Dominate-downs.

"Motsepe back in the years he bought minority shares, vowed to conquer Africa. Unbelievable as it was, he remained focused on that goal. Today, Downs are flourishing. One thing people should know, is to choose between two pains, 1. Pain of patience and 2. Pain of regret," says Abuti.

"I guess the vision to conquer Africa is achieved. Congratulations," says muzi20282.

In a season that's been marred with inconsistencies and injuries, along with eight defeats and a leaky defence, there aren't many positives to focus on for Kaizer Chiefs.

Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jnr singled out youth prospect Mduduzi Shabalala as a bright spark in Amakhosi's season so far.

The 18-year-old is featuring more regularly in the first team this second half of the season and produced a dazzling display in Chiefs' 3-2 defeat to Golden Arrows, scoring his second goal of the season.

Motaung Jnr regards 'Mdu or Die' as an "immense talent" on the "Motaung Jnr Hails Shabalala As Light Of Chiefs' Season" story.

Here's how the fans reacted to the praise:

"His career is going down the drain. Just a few appearances and you start making noise. The boy still has a long way to go before you can start making noise," Saavedra.

"That is why Chiefs players do not grow to be the the best, one or two games by a player and they praise him like a star," says Cutter.

"1. I would like to see Chiefs be patient, sometimes they make unnecessary passes in the final third, 2. I would like to see Chiefs press higher and play the first man to the ball - in all teams they are playing with, not only when they play against Sundowns, Supersport and Pirates, no no no no, they have to put more energy and be more clearer in their mission," says peterchongo.
