Let's take a closer look...

Comments

Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Patrick Mayo harbours high hopes for the Soweto giants under head coach Molefi Ntseki.

Mayo hopes that Ntseki can turn things around for Chiefs in the league after their first win against AmaZulu over the weekend.

He also mentioned that the league is a season-long marathon, and that Chiefs could still improve as they're yet to see Jasond Gonzalez in action.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Mayo Predicting Bigger Things For Kaizer Chiefs" story:

"By now, I guess we can all see that Ntseki is not a tactician. His game plan is poor, his substitutions are not convincing at all, yet he's been with the team for a while. The less said about Zwane the better," says mamahlodioscar.

"When is his son signing for Chiefs?" asks mymkhize.

"Eish, sometimes the score can be deceiving. The true Makhosi fans may agree that the football in the match was not great at all. That match was almost the same as the Pirates' match against Sekhukhune United.

"The score was very good against a team that just didn't turn up on the day. Those matches can really deceive people. I still say that for now at Chiefs (I think they will improve) Castillo is the only player showing quality. I support Pirates but really, Chiefs need to look at that centre defensive pairing, for starters," says msanisto.

"Only one win and they're already waxing lyrical, can't you wait for a little while?" says makhause(2).

"I don't see that because new players will have to adjust. You look to current starting lineup, is made of new players, and the player who makes Chiefs tick currently is Du Preez, who's been with the club from last season.

"Unless Molefi is a tactician like Ted and Stuart who just turned the tables in their first season with players they didn't sign," says matemane.

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Molefi Ntseki could be resorting to tactics that initially made Stuart Baxter successful at the club after admitting that "possession football" hasn't worked for them so far this season.

Ntseki pointed out that their transition tactics against Usuthu were key in their 3-0 win, as they created big chances on counter attacks using the speed of Ashley Du Preez, Tebogo Potsane and Pule Mmodi.

Amakhosi last tasted success under Stuart Baxter between 2012 and 2015, where they were revered for their transition football.

Ntseki, who worked as Baxter's assistant at Bafana Bafana, where transitions were prominent, suggested that Chiefs would like to play possession football but it hasn't been yielding results, meaning they have to look at other styles of play.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Ntseki To Use Baxter's Blueprint At Chiefs?" story:

"Doof doof futbol," says Legend CRM083.

"You can use transition football with possession. What Ntseki is saying is that as a team, you can't have a single style of play, but you have to adapt to how the opponent sets up.

"Arsenal bought Harvetz to change from possession to target man thus confusing the opposition during a game. It doesn't mean they now play doof doof," says sizweking.

"Ntseki... don't take us back with this finder finder football of yours, man!! Train the boys to play proper football or ship out!!" says NickNaks.

"Doof Doof football but Baxter was using height," says makhause(2).

"This is a clear indication that Ntseki doesn't have his own tactics and football brains, Baxter used what he had at that time. What you have now and what Baxter had are different all together. I thought you'll realize that by now.

"Shabba, Yeye, Parker, Kingston Nkatha, you name them... the formation Baxter used the individual brilliance he had in the likes of Mandla Masango. The team you have now is far far less than what Baxter had then," says mamahlodioscar.

"I urge #KCFC to sign Rayners before this transfer window closes," says khosilannete0.

"He must draw his own blueprint , imagine failing using some one's work," says thabot.boshielo.
