'Cancel The Black Label Cup And Bring Back The Charity Cup'

'Cancel The Black Label Cup And Bring Back The Charity Cup'

It has been announced that there will be one less Soweto Derby in the 2018/19 season, following the postponement of the Carling Black Label Cup.

The annual pre-season cup match between South African football foes Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, which was set to take place in July this year, has been cancelled, and it remains unclear whether or not it will happen ever again.

Supporters Club members have reacted to the news, and some are seemingly unfazed by the cancellation of this particular Soweto derby. Meanwhile, a few others are calling for the return of the charity spectacular. The charity cup was a South African one-day tournament in which four teams participated, and was discontinued in 2010 to accommodate the Carling Black Label Cup.
