Maritzburg, on the other hand, booked their spot in the round of 16 after cruising to a 3-0 win over fourth-tier outfit Paarl United.
The Team of Choice are unbeaten in their last five games across two tournaments after playing to a goalless draw against promotion-chasing Orbit College in the Motsepe Foundation Championship last Saturday.
United are lying tenth with 26 points in the MFC standings, 11 points off the promotion play-off spots
