SuperSport United and Stellenbosch will be fighting for a place in the semi-finals of the MTN8 when they clash on Sunday evening.

SuperSport had a steady start to the season, as they are yet to concede after beating Richards Bay 2-0 and played to a goalless draw against AmaZulu in midweek, in their first two league games.

The Tshwane giants were eliminated in the first round of this competition last season after a 2-0 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns.

Stellies, meanwhile, had two contrasting results in their first two league games as they edged Orlando Pirates 1-0 but were beaten by the same scoreline by Polokwane City in midweek.

The Western Cape side were also eliminated in the quarter-finals last season after they lost on penalties to Kaizer Chiefs following a 1-1 draw in extra-time.

SuperSport had the upper hand in the league meetings between the sides last season, after beating Stellies 2-0 in the first round away, with Jamie Webber and Bradley Grobler on the scoresheet while the reverse fixture ended goalless in Tshwane.
