Defending champions Orlando Pirates and Cape Town City will battle it out for a spot in the MTN8 final this afternoon.

MTN8

Teams: Orlando Pirates v Cape Town City

Date: 31 August 2024

Venue: Orlando Stadium

Pirates do carry a slight advantage in the away-goal after their 1-1 draw in the first-leg on Wednesday in the rescheduled encounter.

The Citizens, who were beaten finalists in this cup two years ago, will be wary and look to upset the Sea Robbers on their own turf.

As the season just started, both teams haven't played a lot of fixtures but are unbeaten from the various engagements to date.

The Buccaneers have played a bit more than City due to involvement in the CAF Champions League where a 4-0 victory over Disciples FC helped them to the second preliminary round last week.

City's advancement to the last four came on the back of a narrow victory over Sekhukhune United in the quarter-finals in Polokwane.

To date, the Buccaneers are yet to lose to the Citizens on their own turf and completed the league double over them last season.

Here's how they line up:

Orlando Pirates: Chaine, Monyane, Sesane, Ndah, Hotto, Makhaula, Mbatha, Maswanganyi, Saleng, Mofokeng, Mabasa

Subs: Dladla, Rasebotja, Dlamini, Gilberto, Sibisi, Timm, Kimvuidi, Makgopa

Cape Town City: Keet, Mkhize, Cupido, Petrus, Domingo, Nyama, Mokotjo, Makaringe, Tijueza, Gonzalez, Rhodes.

Subs: Oliaro, Soukouna, Fisher, Frances, Gordinho, Goedeman, Sereetsi, Ahshene, Amato
