MTN8

Teams: Cape Town City v Kaizer Chiefs

Date: 13 August 2023

Chiefs had a shaky start to the season after their opening goalless draw against Chippa United was followed by a 2-1 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns in midweek, both in the league.

The Glamour Boys reached the semi-finals of this tournament last season but they were knocked out by AmaZulu on away goals after a 1-1 draw on aggregate.

The Citizens, in contrast, have a perfect start to the campaign after back-to-back 1-0 victories over Polokwane City and Moroka Swallows in the league.
