Chiefs booked their spot in the semi-finals after beating Cape Town City 2-1 in the quarter-finals thanks to a last-minute winner by Edson Castillo.
After a slow start to the season, the Glamour Boys picked up their performances in the league with back-to-back victories against AmaZulu and Stellenbosch in midweek.

The Brazilians are having a perfect start to the season, as they have also won all their five games so far in the league after beating Polokwane City 2-0 in midweek.
The last time the sides met in the MTN8 was in the 2021/22 season in the quarter-finals, where Masandawana eliminated Amakhosi on penalties after a 2-2 draw in extra-time.
Chiefs came back from two goals down to force the game into extra-time with Bernard Parker and Khama Billiat getting the goals.
Sundowns' first two goals of the game were scored by Peter Shalulile and Zwane within the first 23 minutes.
The sides have already met in the league almost a month ago, as the Brazilians extended their winning streak against Chiefs to three matches with a last-gasp 2-1 victory after a goalkeeping error by Brandon Petersen allowed Neo Maema to be credited with the winning goal.
