For the first time since February 2020 the Soweto derby will be played in front of a capacity crowd when Orlando Pirates and Kaizer meet at FNB Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

DStv Premiership

Teams: Orlando Pirates v Kaizer Chiefs

Date: 29 October 2022

Venue: FNB Stadium

Time: 15h30

Pirates come into the encounter on a better form as they ended their three-match winless streak in the league after beating Golden Arrows 2-0.

The Buccaneers followed that up by progressing to the MTN8 final with a 3-0 thrashing of Mamelodi Sundowns in the semi-final second-leg.

Pirates are find themselves in fourth spot on the table, six points adrift of leaders Sundowns, but they will be without midfielder Miguel Timm due to suspension.

Chiefs, in contrast, are winless in their last three games in all competitions, as their 2-2 draw with TS Galaxy in the league, was followed by a goalless draw with AmaZulu in the MTN8, a result that saw them crash out of the tournament.

Amakhosi, who do not have any suspensions, are one place and one point behind Pirates on the table.

However, the Glamour Boys have won the last three league meetings between the sides and will be chasing their fourth consecutive win in this fixture for the first time in the Premier Soccer League era.

Here's how they line up:
