Cape Town City will be hoping for a change of fortunes when they host Royal AM in the DStv Premiership on Friday evening.

The Citizens had a bad start to the season and were struggling to get results before the recess, with only one win from their last five league games.

City, who halted their season with a 2-1 defeat to Marumo Gallants, are precariously lying 13th on the standings with 13 points, just two points above basement side Maritzburg United.

Royal AM, meanwhile, had a good start to the season but the wheels were starting to come off leading up to the FIFA World Cup break, with four losses from their last five games.

Thwihli Thwahla went to break on a back of a 3-0 thrashing by Mamelodi Sundowns and that result saw them drop down to ninth on the table with 16 points.
