Cape Town City are back in action on Tuesday evening as they aim to get back on the winning trail against high-flying Chippa United.

Eric Tinkler's charges enter the clash winless in their last five matches across all competitions, which includes a 1-0 loss to Richards Bay FC last week.

As a result of the struggling form, the Citizens find themselves in 14th position heading into this evening's encounter but a win could take them as high as eighth spot.

However, City come up against the form side in the DStv Premiership in Chippa who have won their last four games in the league under caretake coach  Morgan Mammila.

Last week's win over Sekhukhune United saw the Chilli Boys become the first team in South Africa's top flight to win four straight matches this season.

Chippa find themselves in sixth position but could move above Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates and climb to fourth with a win tonight.

However, Chippa have failed to win their last five league encounters against the Mother City side, who claimed a 1-0 win in this fixture last season.
