Teams: Orlando Pirates v Magesi FC

Date: 19 October 2024

Venue: Orlando Stadium

Pirates are still in a celebratory mood after they were crowned MTN8 champions for the third season running following their 3-1 win over Stellenbosch in the final two weeks ago, prior to the FIFA break.

The Buccaneers are in good form overall, as they won all their opening three games in the league and qualified for the CAF Champions League group stages unbeaten in the qualifying rounds.

The Soweto giants reached the quarter-finals of the tournament last season before they were knocked out by Richards Bay on penalties after a goalless draw in extra-time.

Magesi, on the other hand, have had a mix bag of results in their debut season in the Betway Premiership, as they initially found the going tough after opening back-to-back defeats against Limpopo rivals Sekhukhune United and Polokwane City.

However, Clinton Larsen's charges finally got their first win and points after edging Golden Arrows 1-0 and kept their second consecutive clean-sheet after a goalless draw against Royal AM before the international break.

Here's how they line up:

Orlando Pirates: Chaine, Sibisi, Sesane, Van Rooyen, Hotto, Rasebotja, Dlamini, Kimvuidi, Mofokeng, Saleng, Mabasa

Subs: Buthelezi, Maela, Monyane, Ndlondlo, Maswanganyi, Nkota, Moleleki, Gilberto, Makgopa

Magesi: Chipezeze, Mashigo, Darpoh, Mzava, Mokone, Mekoa, Mokone, Charimbandare, Abrahams, Kokora, Makhubu.

Subs: Mpandle, Mokhele, Sekgota, Buthelezi, Manzini, Ndwandwe, Rademeyer, Masegela, Matima
