Marks Maponyane On Kaizer Chiefs' Alarming Inconsistency

Former Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates striker, Marks Maponyane, has spoken of Amakhosi's inconsistency levels across all competitions this season.

Speaking to Soccer Laduma, 'Go Man Go' analysed some of Chiefs' fixtures and highlighted their lack of consistency in results.

"You will find some alarming inconsistency in terms of results. Some big losses came from that MTN8 final against Ajax, the 3-1 loss to Pirates, and a week later beating Pirates only on penalties, before being exposed by Sundowns in the TKO final," Maponyane said.

Maponyane made mention of the fact that Chiefs are yet to win consecutive league fixtures this season.

"It shows Chiefs are not firing on all cylinders. I don't think Chiefs have collected back-to-back victories this season. It's been a pattern of: win, draw, loss, win, draw, loss... that kind of thing.

"Even the Celtic win I think was fortunate for Chiefs. When you are a fan, you are just happy with the result. But when you're a neutral or analyst, you recognise what teams get away with a lot more," he added

The Naturena-based side are currently fourth on the league table, having collected 25 points from their 15 league games.

Do you think Kaizer Chiefs will defend their league title? Why do you think Chiefs have been so inconsistent this season?
