For those of you who are avid racing simulator fans, you will definitely have heard of Project Cars from Slightly Mad Studios. It's been one of the standout racing games for several years competing with some pretty heavyweight titles such as Gran Turismo and Forza. Well, good news for you racing fans, is that the developer has just announced Project Cars 3.

While Project Cars 2 didn't quite live up to the success of the original, the developer has put in extensive work to try remedy players' concerns in the third instalment. Slightly Mad Studios also mentioned they will be trying to make the latest game more accessible for new players as the previous game had very niche appeal.
For starters, they have rebuilt the Career Mode with a much better and more intuitive progression system. Players will earn experience points as they progress through ten different vehicle classes. As they do so they will unlock new parts to upgrade their vehicles as well as new tracks and events. Best of all, unlike in previous games, if a player doesn't like an event or is struggling to complete it they can, in fact, skip the event (with a small financial penalty – paid from their in-game money).
Electronic Sports Sims Continue To Reach New Records
The upgrade system thankfully now also affects how the cars look. In the past, while players were able to make upgrades to their cars, this only improved the performance of the vehicle without any real visible changes. Project Cars 3 addresses this with a thoroughly robust visual upgrade system allowing you to customise your car and make it stand out on the track.
Another welcome change is that your experience points will carry over from career mode to multiplayer so you as the player are not locked into one mode or another to progress. The layout of multiplayer has also been overhauled with several different multiplayer modes including Scheduled Event mode for special races created by the developers, Quick Play for those wanting to immediately jump into the action and match up against players of a similar skill level and of course custom lobbies for those who want to customise every detail of their race experience.
All these proposed changes seem to indicate that the developers have definitely taken on board the feedback from the community and it looks as though Project Cars 3 will be a vast improvement from the last game. The game is scheduled for release "Summer 2020" in the Northern Hemisphere so sometime in the next few months and will be available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
