NBA 2K21 Cover Athlete Announced

Fresh off of the news that NBA 2K20 will be free in July on PS Plus, 2K have now revealed the player that will take the prestigious spot on the front cover of NBA 2K21.

Of course, there were a number of athletes that had their hands up in terms of performances on the court, but only three players will end up on a cover.

The first player to get a cover is Damian Lillard, who takes the throne following Anthony Davis' appearance on the cover of NBA 2K20.

In the announcement trailer on NBA 2K's official Twitter account, they showed off some of the Portland Trail Blazers star's magical moments.

Lillard was certainly one of the standouts in the battle for a cover spot, considering his historic achievements with the Blazers in becoming the first player to get over 50 points in three games.

The Blazers point guard is clearly delighted with being the cover star, with the player taking to his own Twitter account to say, "Being on the cover of NBA 2K is a dream come true. I've been playing 2k since the Dreamcast days! Hyped to be the #NBA2K21 current gen cover athlete. #YKWTII #DameTime.

Lillard will be on the cover for the PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch. The announcement of the stars who will be on the PS5 and Xbox Series X version will be revealed soon.
