Messi Ventures Into eSports With Agüero

Eight-time Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi has ventured into the world of eSports with best friend Sergio Agüero. Check it out!

What's the story?

Lionel Messi has teamed up with Sergio Agüero to join the ever-expanding world of eSports! 

Retired striker Agüero, who's been best friends with Messi since they were teens, is the founder of KRÜ Esports and announced that Messi will be joining him as the co-owner.

From representing Argentina together in junior and senior levels to best friends and now, business partners! Agüero and Messi are ready to take the eSports world by storm together.

After Agüero's untimely retirement, he turned his hobbie of gaming into a business and founded KRÜ Esports, which has been growing in leaps and bounds over the last three years.

The Manchester City legend took to Instagram to share a video of the company's progress, dramatically announcing that he's reached his limit as the sole owner of KRÜ.

Before taking a sip of water and a long pause, he announced he's now there's two bosses at the eSports company and that Messi is now the organization's newest co-owner.

Unsurprisingly, the news has sparked plenty of traction and great interest in the eSports world, with Messi's undeniable status as one of the greatest sportsman of all time and his eighth Ballon d'Or win certifying this move as a huge coup for the eSports industry.

In joining forces with Agüero, Messi follows is the latest major football figure to invest in the industry. Following in the footsteps of the man that brought him to Inter Miami, David Beckham, who co-owns the British organization Guild Esports.

His former FC Barcelona teammate Gerard Piqué co-founded the Spanish esports organization KOI and fellow South American star Casemiro owns Case Esports
