The incident that marred the ending of last night's Absa Premiership clash between log leaders Bidvest Wits and Kaizer Chiefs is now being reviewed by SAFA's referees committee.

Victor Gomes, the match official often at the centre of controversy, took the shine off Amakhosi's 2-0 victory when he sent off Wits defender Robyn Johannes for his reaction after a foul on striker Bernard Parker. The game was all but over given that it was during added time when Johannes was sent for an early shower.
It's the third time in a row that Gomes is showing the Clever Boys centre back a red card – and this has obviously raised eyebrows.According to the SAFA head of referees Tenda Masikhwa, the panel has been discussing the incident in their weekly gathering and should give their recommendations by late Friday.
"As you are aware, the referees review committee sits every Tuesday and Thursday. On Tuesday we review the weekend games and on Thursday we look at the midweek matches in the domestic league, so that episode at the end of the Wits and Chiefs game will be on the agenda," Masikhwa told the Siya crew.

Match referee Gomes was confronted by Wits players at the sound of the final whistle, with coach Gavin Hunt seemingly calming things down while CEO Jose Ferreira appeared to also have a word with the whistleman.
Johannes, who was sent off by the same referee when Wits lost 2-1 to Bloemfontein Celtic at the same venue in November, will now serve a three-match suspension.
