Last month, the Siya crew reported that the Limpopo outfit were in advanced talks with former Highlands Park coach Owen Da Gama, however it is understood that the deal fell through after the two parties could not come to an agreement on Da Gama's financial package.
Speaking to the South African Journalists Association (SAFJA) in a virtual press conference on Thursday, Chokoe cryptically addressed the Owen Da Gama reports.
"We are not saying it (finances) were a stumbling block. When a person comes and submits his CV. You interview him and you talk to him then you find this person deserves what he is asking for, that should not be a problem. For us to get the best out of our coach he should be happy with what he wants, and we still have to support him in getting one or two players that he would want to have in the team. Finances will always be finances but with the coach that we have appointed, there was no issue of finances. With all the coaches we have interviewed, there was never an issue of finance," Chokoe told SAFJA
After failing to secure their initial target, it is expected that former Chippa United coach Norman Mapeza became the front runner for the job and has already started training with the club as reported by KickOff.

Chokoe, however has revealed that the identity of their new coach will become public knowledge in the coming days as the club gear up for their MTN8 clash with SuperSport United on Saturday 17 October.
"The type of coach we really need is going to come out with a wealth of experience and suit our way of doing things especially in terms of the style of play, because TTM since its inception are known for playing good and attacking football that is entertaining but getting results at the same time. That is what we are looking at. But we have found the right coach and you guys will hear about him tomorrow (Friday) or Monday. He's a middle coach, he's not young or old. He's just a middle coach. The coach has definitely got PSL experience," Chokoe added.
