SuperSport Search In Africa For Goalkeeper

The Siya crew has been led to believe that SuperSport United are on the market for a goalkeeper and have already started looking beyond the shores of South Africa for a possible addition to the squad.

Matsatsantsa look set to lose number one net minder Ricardo Goss, who is expected to return to parent club Mamelodi Sundowns when the season comes to an end.

He is in the second campaign of his two-year loan deal and indications are that the Brazilians are keen to have him back in their side with veteran Denis Onyango likely to call time on his playing career when the final whistle for 2023/24 goes.

Goss, who was at the Africa Cup of Nations with Bafana Bafana, has been a key player for SuperSport since his arrival, and the side is on the hunt for someone who will have the same quality.

This publication has been informed that the club has been looking at a Ghanaian goalkeeper, though the identity of the player has not been revealed as yet.

SuperSport seem intent on finding a suitable replacement in the coming months, so as to be prepared for when next season starts, without having to panic about who they should bring in.

Washington Arubi is a solid option for SuperSport in the last line of defence, but the club is trying to bring in a younger and experienced keeper to ensure coach Gavin Hunt has enough options in that department.
