Insiders at Naturena indicated that Potsane's place in the team is believed to hinge on the club's recruitment plans. Chiefs are reportedly targeting four to five new signings across various positions, which could directly impact Potsane's standing.

"His future is still hanging in the balance now. The team is working on bringing in new players. It's believed they want to bring in at least four to five in different positions and that's what would affect Tebogo (Potsane). So for now his future is really not with Kaizer Chiefs," the Siya source stated.

A second insider explained that Amakhosi are determined to downsize their squad, which means releasing several players to maintain a manageable and competitive team.

"Some of these players could have been released this season but there were injuries and uncertainties on other areas but now it's believed that the coach has made it clear that they need a sizeable, workable squad and to do that they are expected to release more and sign less and Potsane's future will be determined by those new signings," the second source revealed.

Potsane, whose contract runs until June 2026, has struggled for game time this season, appearing in just a few matches after recovering from an injury.

Soccer Laduma reached out to Chiefs for comment, but the club had not responded at the time of publication.
