Kabelo Mahlasela is one of the players likely to be considered to replace Wiseman Maluleke at Polokwane City, after the Limpopo club decided to part ways with the midfielder.
It has been confirmed to the Siya crew that Rise and Shine have decided against extending the contract of the 28-year-old Giyani-born player, who has been with the club since 2017.
"Polokwane City has parted ways with Wiseman Maluleke. He hasn't been offered a new contract after the three-year deal he had with the club expired," said the source.
Meanwhile, after the Siya crew broke the news in April that Mahlasela would not be returning to Kaizer Chiefs at the expiry of his loan deal in Polokwane, the Soweto giants have since confirmed that the 29-year-old former Bloemfontein Celtic midfielder's contract has not been renewed.
Indications are that Rise and Shine could be interested in keeping Mahlasela on a permanent deal, after the club's current head coach Clinton Larsen recently hinted about that.
