Orlando Pirates are set to tie one of their defenders to a long term contract once again, and this is after some good performances from the player last season.
Siya sources at the club have indicated that the team has possibly started talks to keep Sandile Mthethwa for another three years. There may also be the option of an extension for another year.

The source added that Pirates could see a promising future for the 26-year-old, hence the need to tie him down to a long term contract.
"Yes, they are talking. There is not much of a hurry because his current contract ends in June next year, but still, they want to make sure that he is staying at the team," said the Siya source.
"It's a proposed three-year plus one year option which means he could be at the team until 2028. They have a long term plan for him within the team.
"That's why they are talking to his representatives right now," the source said.
The other source stated that since Pirates believe in Mthethwa, they didn't sign any other defender this season.
"You know there are possibilities that Olisa Ndah could leave? But the team hasn't panicked and signed any defenders because they are confident in Mthethwa as one of the team's best players," said the other Siya source.
"That is why they want to give him a new contract because they see the future with him. Considering he is only 26-years-old they have offered him around three years.
"He will be gaining experience every season he is at the team," the source told the Siya crew.
Mthethwa joined Pirates in 2016 at the age of 19 from KZN Academy but he has spent most of his time on loan, twice at Chippa United and also at Richards Bay.
Last season he was given a chance and played nine league games plus three Nedbank Cup games.
Efforts to get a comment from Pirates were unsuccessful at the time of preparing this story.
