Mkhanyiseli Siwahla Claims Facilitating A Move For Jabu Mahlangu To FC Cape Town

In 2012, when he made a comeback to the game after months in the wilderness, Jabu 'Shuffle' Mahlangu surprised many in the fraternity when he signed with FC Cape Town in the second tier league of South African football.

Mahlangu's return to the sport brought so much joy to the multitudes of supporters, who still remembered him for his immense talent and silky football skills he dished out for Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana in the prime of his career.

One of the Daveyton-born player's teammates at the Mother City outfit was none other than Mkhanyiseli 'Ntsimbi' Siwahla – the skilful former Ajax Cape Town player who idolised Mahlangu as a young boy growing up in Nyanga.

Siwahla claims to have facilitated Mahlangu's move by speaking to FC Cape Town boss Errol Dicks to sign him.

Mahlangu had been without a club since returning from Sweden in 2010, where he was with Osters IF, when he was signed by the Mother City club in February 2012.

He went on to have a second stint with SuperSport United in 2014, before hanging up his boots.

"I played a part in Jabu's move to FC Cape Town. I was very close to the owner of FC Cape Town and I approached him and recommended Jabu, and he agreed that he could come. I'm the one who made the deal there. I convinced the boss of the club to sign Jabu. We were good friends, and we are still good friends now, as I don't have a problem with anyone," Siwahla told the Siya crew.
