Retirement for decorated midfielder Andile Jali has not been completely ruled out, with a decision on his career set to be made in the near future.

The 34-year-old Jali is currently without a club after parting ways with Moroka Swallows earlier this year and while there has been talk of a comeback, retirement has not been ruled out as yet.

According to agent Mike Makaab, Jali is currently pondering his future and a decision will be made on what happens next.

Should he decide to continue playing and secure a new club, Makaab guarantees that the former Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns player will be in great shape.

"Andile is pondering his future. He is my 'son' and I know him better than most. He is pondering his future. We've agreed with him and that that should he decide to continue to play, we will make sure we work with him to get him into fantastic shape for the new season. Unless his mind is 100 percent on football, he is not going to commit himself," Makaab said to the Siya crew.

"He has left us with beautiful memories. I don't think he is finished. I think the desire is still there because I know him well. If he decides he wants to continue, then he will start the season in great shape."

Asked if there is a possibility of Jali ending his playing career and focusing on the next chapter of his life, Makaab said: "I think there is always a possibility with mature players like him. And again, a lot will depend on his mentality towards wanting to continue to play."
