As reported by the Siya crew, the 31-year-old recently returned to South Africa having spent the last three years in Iran, where he was on the books of Foolad FC.

Patosi parted ways with the club in January this year, and returned to South Africa with the view of securing a deal in the Premiership.

The former Cape Town City man spent the last few days training with Spurs, under the watchful eyes of their new coach Ernst Middendorp, who is yet to make a decision on the attacker.

According to Siya sources, whether or not Patosi will be signed is determined by his conditioning. The Siya crew understands that while the club are keen to bring in experience of Patosi's calibre, they are looking for someone who can add value immediately.

"He has been undergoing a rigorous training program to which he is responding very well. He has been inactive for about seven to eight months, which is a long time for a player, as you would know. But we all know what quality a fit Patosi could bring to the club, it now depends on how fast he can get into shape," the source told the Siya crew.
