Kaizer Chiefs defender Luke Fleurs' future hangs in the balance after only joining the team late last year as a free agent when he had left SuperSport United, the Siya crew has been informed.
Siya sources close to the club and the player have indicated that only the arrival of a new Chiefs coach could change Fleurs' situation.

The former South Africa youth international would not want to leave at the end of the season, so soon after even arriving at Naturena.
"The main problem that Luke (Fleurs) is facing apart from the competition is that the technical team that recommended him is not around. It's coach Molefi Ntseki who took a great look into him because he worked with him before at the national Under-17 team," said the Siya source.
"But then when Ntseki left things also changed for him. Now they are looking at a possibility of either loaning or releasing him at the end of the season though he still has one more year on his contract until June 2025.
"He is finding himself in a tricky situation right now," the source added.
A second Siya source also discussed Fleurs' possibility of staying on for the last year of his contract if Chiefs hire a new coach who could probably give him an opportunity.
"It may happen that a new coach, if there, will be the one who would like him and want to use him. That's his chance at the moment. But if the same technical team continues then there is a bleak future for him at the club. It's not like he is not working hard, he is, but the competition in that central defender position is high," the second Siya source revealed.
The 23-year-old is yet to play an official game for the club and has to compete with Given Msimango, Zitha Kwinika, Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, Edmilson Dove and Njabulo Ngcobo for a place in the team.
Soccer Laduma contacted Chiefs for comment but no response was received by the time this story was published.
Amakhosi's next game is against Moroka Swallows on Saturday, March 2 at FNB Stadium.
