Mamelodi Sundowns could welcome back their former General Manager, Kenneth Makhanya, following his recent resignation as the CEO of the Eswatini Premier League, according to insiders privy to information.
Siya sources close to the club have indicated that Makhanya, who had previously worked alongside notable head coaches such as Johan Neeskens and Pitso Mosimane at Sundowns, has decided to return to a South African club starting next month.

The sources added that Makhanya's decision was influenced by an irresistible offer, believed to be from Sundowns.
"As far as we know everything is already confirmed, Mr (Kenneth) Makhanya is going back to Mamelodi Sundowns. He has already resigned as the CEO of the Swaziland Premier League as he has indicated that the offer he has received is hard to refuse. Yes, his last day at work in Swaziland will be on Friday, 28th June and he is expected to start his new job at Mamelodi Sundowns on July 1, on Monday. It's a big loss to Swazi football I can tell you," the Siya source stated.
Soccer Laduma contacted Eswatini Premier League Chairman Mark Carmichael, who confirmed Makhanya's resignation and his impending move to South Africa, though he did not specify that it was Sundowns where Makhanya was headed.

"Yes, we are very proud to know that he has received a wonderful life-changing job offer which we support him for as the Eswatini Premier League. It's a life-changing offer which is not just good for him but for Eswatini football at large. It shows that eMaswati can do work in the South African Premier Soccer League. We congratulate him on his new endeavour and thank him for his contribution in the past four years which we have worked with him. We wish him all the best going forward. His last day at work here will be on Friday, 28th June as he is expected to take up his new post from Monday, 1 July. We wish him all the best," Carmichael told the Siya crew.
Soccer Laduma contacted Sundowns for comment but the club had not responded by the time this report was published.
Makhanya's potential return to Sundowns could mark a significant reappointment for the club, bringing back a seasoned executive with extensive experience in football management. His previous tenure at Sundowns saw successful collaborations with the likes of Mosimane and his expertise will be invaluable as the club continues to strive for excellence both domestically and internationally.
Makhanya's move also highlights the cross-border respect and opportunities within the football nations of Southern Africa.
