The Siya crew has learnt that Mamelodi Sundowns striker Jerome Karelse has landed on the radar of DStv Premiership outfit Sekhukhune United.
In June this year, the Siya crew reported that Sundowns were looking to send him out on loan to earn valuable experience at a high level.
A number of teams in the DStv Premiership and the Motsepe Foundation Championship expressed an interest in the lanky forward, who managed an impressive 16 goals in the DStv Diski Challenge in the 2022/23 season, at the time, though a move did not materialize for the player.
The 21-year-old was considered for Sundowns' matchday squads on three occasions in the DStv Premiership, and even made an appearance against Orlando Pirates in a three-minute cameo last season.
But with the player now turning out for Sundowns' ABC Motsepe League side M-Tigers, the latest news reaching the crew's desk is that Babina Noko are keeping tabs on the player.
The Siya crew understands that Karelse remains contracted to Sundowns, but with very little prospect of breaking into the club's first team, a switch might just be on the cards for the Northern Cape-born striker.
