News reaching the Siya crew is that Mamelodi Sundowns are believed to be preparing a massive bid for the services of a high-rated defender.
As previously reported by Soccer Laduma, both Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates have long-term admirers of Stellenbosch’s Fawaaz Basadien.
According to sources, Sundowns are currently frontrunners in the race for the services of the 28-year-old, and that the Chloorkop-based club’s financial muscle could sway the Stellies hierarchy.

Indications are that Chiefs are not willing to back down, and that Basadien could be sold to the highest bidder.
Sources have further revealed that an offer of R20 million is understood to have been tabled for the Bafana Bafana defender.
"Sundowns are determined to sign Basadien. That's why they are believed to have offered Stellenbosch FC R20m for his services. They know they have competition from both Chiefs and Pirates but they stand a better chance because of the money they are offering," an insider revealed to Siya crew.
"If Sundowns sign Basadien then Chiefs could have a chance to sign Terrence Mashego from Sundowns ,as they are looking at releasing him. It's still at an early stage but things are looking good for Sundowns to get him this time around," the insider added.
The left back has been a key figure for the Winelands this season.
Soccer Laduma reached out to Sundowns for comment but attempts were unsuccessful.
