New Bid: 'Chiefs Giving It Everything To Sign Basadien'

"I believe this is a much better and improved bid. It's about a player that they really need and they are giving it everything to sign him. We all know it won't be an easy one as Stellies are the ones in control but Chiefs are determined to sign him and that's why they are believed to have tabled a new offer which is more appealing," the source told the Siya crew.

A second insider noted how Chiefs are increasing their overall budget for next season, not only to acquire Basadien but also to strengthen other positions.

"You know last season it's believed they started with around a R50 million budget but increased it in January and now they want to increase again so that they are closer to the demands of the players they want to sign including a winger, a striker, and of course, the left back. So with the new increased budget this could work out," the Siya source stated.

The 28-year-old Bafana Bafana defender has been consistent since joining Stellenbosch in 2022 from Moroka Swallows. He has made steady, consistent progress, scoring goals and then even representing South Africa.
