The Siya crew has been led to believe Mamelodi Sundowns' versatile player Rivaldo Coetzee will give the club first preference as he waits to hear if the club will exercise the option on his contract.
The Siya crew recently reported that Sundowns have another option to extend Coetzee's contract for a year. At the end of last season, the club took the first one-year option they had in the player's contract and there is one more they can take, with his camp waiting to hear from the club next year.

The question is whether a rival PSL club could have shown interest in Coetzee in this moment when it's not clear whether Sundowns will extend his contract for the long term?
Indications are that the player would be more than happy to stay with the club beyond the end of this season and not consider other options as yet, especially with the FIFA Club World Cup coming up next year, which would give him an opportunity to play at an international level with some of the top clubs in the world.
The Club World Cup will be played between June and July and this will give players in the Sundowns squad exposure at the highest level and the Siya crew understands Coetzee would love to be a part of it.
Coetzee had a good start to the season, but his progress was affected by an ACL injury which he has been recovering from over the last few weeks.

The former Ajax Cape Town star will be hoping to make a return to fight for his place in the starting line-up soon, especially with Sundowns playing in different competitions.
