With reports surfacing that a consortium has bought SuperSport United's status and will rename it to Celtic United, the Siya crew talks to the owner of the rights of Bloemfontein Celtic.
Bloemfontein-based businessman Eddie Modise has already claimed to own the rights to Bloem Celtic and now he is distancing himself from the reported "Celtic United" project.

In an exclusive interview with Soccer Laduma, Modise emphasized that he has no connection to the SuperSport United acquisition or Celtic United.
"No. We are not the ones for that (Celtic United) deal. I don't know anything about it. I am not under pressure to do anything. You know every action has its own consequences and the truth will prevail. What I can tell you is that Bloemfontein Celtic will still be there. That's our project," Modise told Soccer Laduma.
According to Modise, his team is working with people who have the interest of Bloemfontein Celtic at heart, and he is confident of advancing his own plans.
"Ours is a project of the people of Bloemfontein, the Free State and South Africa as a whole. We know what we are doing and when the time is right with the right support and structures then we will launch project Bloemfontein Celtic which is for the people," Modise told the Siya crew.

Soccer Laduma contacted SuperSport United regarding the potential takeover of their team but the club had not responded by the time this report was published.
According to Modise, he had bought the naming rights of Bloemfontein Celtic from former owner Max Tshabalala, and there were two clubs which he was believed to be targeting from the Motsepe Foundation Championship, in JDR Stars and Milford FC. However, at this moment in time, potential moves have not materialised to takeover either club.
The emergence of a separate "Celtic United" project creates an intriguing situation in South African football, with more than one entity potentially using variations of the Celtic name. The second reported interest previously came from another Bloemfontein businessman, Kennedy Freddy. Then there is a third option, the Celtic United consortium which is linked to Gayton McKenzie and his team, according to local reports.
