European Scouts Watching Mokwana Against Congo

After just a few months of playing his football in North Africa, Bafana Bafana forward Elias Mokwana has attracted European interest, the Siya crew has been informed.

Insiders close to the player have indicated that Esperance de Tunis forward Elias Mokwana has already received interest from a Belgian club.

The sources added that scouts and agents from the Belgian club have been in South Africa to watch the striker in action for Bafana Bafana and have recommended him for the team in Belgium.

"There is interest from Europe in Mokwana. Actually it's from Belgium. We can't say which team it is at the moment because that could complicate things. He has been spotted by scouts and agents from Belgium who have twice watched him play for Bafana Bafana and they are willing to talk to his team in Tunisia for a possible move. I can't say when they want him but they have inquired about him. They are believed to be in the forefront in looking for his services," the Siya source stated.

A second insider has stated that if Mokwana is sold to Europe by Esperance, then Sekhukhune United are set to benefit from the transfer according to the agreement they signed when he moved to Tunisia.

"His move to any other team will benefit Sekhukhune United. They agreed that if Elias (Mokwana) is sold to Europe or any other club at a higher price above the price Sekhukhune United sold him to Esparance then they will get a percentage of the money. So for now the interest from Belgium is not just good for the player or Esparance but also for Sekhukhune United," the second Siya source stated.

So far, Mokwana has featured in three Ligue 1 Pro games for Esperance since moving there in August this year. He has signed a three-year contract until June 2027 and has recently made his mark for the South Africa national team.

Mokwana's impressive performances have caught the attention of European scouts, and a potential move to Belgium could benefit not only the player and Esperance de Tunis but also Sekhukhune.
