Ajax Cape Town exercised the added two-year option on the contract of one of the Premier Soccer League's hottest properties leading up to the July/August transfer window.
As reported previously by Soccer Laduma, Mamelodi Sundowns officially approached Ajax for the services of their Bafana Bafana defender, Rivaldo Coetzee.

However, following Sundowns' approach, the Cape Town-based club's boss, Ari Efstathiou, confirmed to the Siya crew that he's been in talks with clubs in Europe about Coetzee, during his recent trip abroad.
"I am specifically in Europe for Rivaldo and we are making progress," Efstathiou told the Siya crew last week.
However, Coetzee's contract with the Urban Warriors was set to expire at the end of June this year, with Ajax having an added two-year option on his deal.
Soccer Laduma has since been informed that the added two-year option has been exercised by the Urban Warriors and the 20-year-old's stay has been extended until at least, the 2018/2019 season.
Indications are that the Urban Warriors acted quickly to make sure they tie down their defender on an extended deal, which will ensure that the club cashes in on big money for the player, should they agree to sell.
