Webber: What You Can Expect From Me

Webber: What You Can Expect From Me

New Sekhukhune United midfielder Jamie Webber has opened up on why he made the decision to join the club from SuperSport United.

Webber was announced as Sekhukhune's first signing, from SuperSport, ahead of the 2023/24 season after Babina Noko had a historic campaign under head coach Brandon Truter, who led them to their first Nedbank Cup final and qualified them for the MTN8.

Webber, who joined the Limpopo side on a two-year deal, struggled for regular game time at Matsatsantsa since joining in 2018 but was starting to get his breakthrough after making 19 appearances in the DStv Premiership last season.

The 25-year old says he was "stimulated" by the thought of joining Sekhukhune.

"Dear fans, I'm very grateful to be here. You guys are an incredible source of inspiration and motivation. You guys help us do better on the field. I ask that you please continue supporting us and we will surely do our best," Webber said via the club's media department.

"To help you not only enjoy watching us play but share the joy of winning. I look forward to sharing this new chapter of my life with you all and making it a huge success

"For me the thought of joining Sekhukhune is stimulating. I'm excited about learning new skills, although I'm also aware that it will be a lot of hard work overall," he said.

The former South Africa junior international went on and revealed that he enjoyed watching Babina Noko play last season and what their culture offers is what he has been missing in the last few years.

"I really enjoyed watching the team play last season and I know that this will be a great move for me. The club is incredible and the culture offers what I think has been missing over the past few years," he said.

"I feel so excited and I'm ready for this. What you can expect from me is being a team player, being respectful towards coaches, backroom staff, as well as my teammates.

"Also my willingness to work hard, be accountable and take responsibility for myself and the team, will help the club accomplish their expected goals," he concluded.
