Today was meant to be the day that Percy Tau could get his hands on a first European trophy, but the Bafana Bafana star will now have to wait for that moment to come…
Tau's Club Brugge were meant to line up against Royal Antwerp in the final of the Belgian Cup in Brussels this afternoon, however the Coronavirus outbreak that has ground football to a halt saw the game postponed until 'a later date'.
The 25-year-old attacker played four games for Club – scoring once – as they marched into the first final of the season in Belgium, and he will have been hoping to make an appearance at King Baudouin Stadium as they sought to lift a trophy in the Belgian capital.
Having lifted numerous trophies in his career to date – including Absa Premiership and CAF Champions League titles – Tau was due to get his chance to add European silverware to his trophy cabinet with Club, but it now remains to be seen when the game will be rescheduled to.
Club are also on course to lift the Belgian Pro League title whenever games do get back underway, with Tau on the brink of completing league and cup double in his first season in European top-flight football.
