Talks Ongoing For SA Teenager's Euro Deal

Talks are ongoing for one of SA's teenage stars to make a R30-million switch to Portugal before the current transfer window slams shut, the Siya crew has been told.

Lyle Foster, the teenage star who signed for AS Monaco in January last year from Orlando Pirates, spent the previous season on loan at Belgium side Cerlce Brugge in search for regular game-time away from his parent club.

With Monaco keen to have him return for pre-season last month and keen to assess him further, it is understood Foster may leave for good.

The 19-year-old junior international is being courted by Vitoria SC, a club known to South Africans having had Bongani Zungu on their books during the 2016/17 season prior to his move to the French Ligue 1 where he joined Amiens.

According to Siya sources, a R30-million price tag has been mentioned as the likely transfer fee should Foster make the switch to Portugal's top-flight.

The teenager still has three more years left on his Monaco contract, so he will only move permanently if the two clubs agree a fee.

It's understood Monaco and Vitoria SC are still in the early stages of discussions and the deal is not yet finalised as has been suggested by reports in France.

Foster had made just 11 appearances for the Pirates first team before he was snapped up by the French outfit on a five-year deal, and at his age time is still very much on his side.

The transfer window in France is only currently open for domestic registration, but is yet to allow movements outside and a decision is expected soon.
